In case you drove by the Lungotevere, now you won’t miss it for sure. It’s Frontier’s construction site. Doug Aitken’s installation is close to completion. Right now a team of technicians is setting up the audio-video system that will make possible the screening of Aitken’s movie inside the open ceiling room. Here you have exclusive pictures of the work in progress.
While the construction of Frontier is still taking place on the Tiberina Island (you will get news soon), preparation for the exhibition in MACRO, dedicated to Enel Contemporanea has started. Don’t forget to take follow our blog in the next days: you will find soon a very interesting interview to Luca Massimo Barbero, Director at MACRO.
There he comes, only for Enel Contemporanea Blog’s users, the third and last part of our interview to Francesco Bonami, Enel Contemporanea curator. Bonami will share with us his impressions on Aitken’s art installation and the upcoming opening October the 23rd. Keep on reading to be updated and get your exclusive point of view on Enel Contemporanea 2009.
A few days before Doug Aitken’s new art work opening we decided to reveal something more about the his roman art experience. As we said before, the internal walls of the room, set on the Tiberina Island, will host Aitken’s movie screening. Famed American artist Ed Ruscha is the protagonist of this movie. Ed is taking us for a mysterious urban walk, set in a moving and lively scenery. If you want to learn more about Frontier and Aitken’s other works, visit Enel Contemporanea website and stay tuned on our blog.
