Doug Aitken is for sure one of the most prolific and esteemed contemporary artists. He won the Leone D’Oro at 1999 Biennale of Venice and displayed his work in museums all over the world, always carrying on his complex aesthetic, made of images, places and sounds.
Through his artist glance he is telling us something unique about the contemporary world and about what is, or what we think is, our relationship with it.
Every piece of art is a unique experience, like Sleepwalkers, a 2007 installation screened on the MoMa façade, or the more recent “Migration”, a video installation where wild animals are pulled out of their natural context and set into non-places of the modern age. To know more about his biography and his work visit Enel Contemporanea’s website. And be back on the Blog in the next days, you will find images and videos of Doug Aitken’s best works.
